Factory Production Note: The “Square Cut” & Lamination Challenge

Insider Tip for Heavyweight Educational Cards:

When manufacturing square cards for children, sharp 90-degree corners create impact vulnerabilities and safety hazards.

Even for strictly square designs, we strongly advise tooling a micro-corner radius (e.g., 2mm to 3mm) during die-cutting. This prevents corner splitting and fraying over time without compromising the geometric aesthetic.

Additionally, applying matte lamination over heavy ink coverage requires precise thermal calibration on the laminator.

If the roller temperature is too low, the film will not adhere properly to the dense ink layer, leading to peeling. If too high, it can mute the vibrancy of the educational graphics. Our press floor maintains strict climate controls to ensure perfect adhesion.
