Project Background & Challenge

The client required a visually striking deck for a Kickstarter cardistry campaign. They demanded maximum light refraction during complex flourishes and card displays.

To achieve this, they leveraged our custom playing card printing services to engineer a highly specialized, performance-driven solution.

The core manufacturing challenge? Executing tight-tolerance dual-foil application (hot stamping combined with cold foil) over a highly textured surface. We had to achieve this without increasing the caliper profile or compromising the stock’s natural snap.

Registration and Curing for Dual-Foil on Linen

Applying cold foil and hot stamping over a deep linen finish requires extreme precision. If the embossing pressure is too high, it fractures the foil layer. If too low, the air-cushion glide is lost.

We utilize custom-calibrated pressure cylinders and strictly monitor facility humidity during the curing phase.

This prevents the 300gsm stock from warping under the thermal stress of the foil application. The result? The deck maintains its perfect geometric profile and “snap” straight out of the tuck box.
