Cardstock Material Types
In the manufacture of game cards, Blue Core, Black Core, and Art paper cardstocks have different applications and characteristics, which affect the quality of the cards, protection against transparency, and cost. When discussing cardstocks of 300 gsm, 310 gsm, 330 gsm, and 350 gsm, with an increase in the gsm value, the thickness, strength, and opacity of the cardstock usually increase as well.

Blue Core Cardstock
Weight: 280gsm / 300gsm
Characteristics: The blue core helps prevent see-through, meaning preventing visibility from one side to the other, which is particularly important in card games.
Advantages: Blue Core cardstock is usually more cost-effective, meeting the needs of most standard card games, making it a popular choice for mass production of game cards.

Weight: 300gsm / 310gsm / 330gsm
Characteristics: It contains a black core layer, which offers stronger see-through prevention compared to Blue Core cardstock, providing an advanced level of privacy protection.
Advantages: Although Black Core cardstock is more expensive than Blue Core, its higher opacity and strength add extra value to game cards, especially for professional or collectible card products.

Weight: 300gsm / 350gsm / 400gsm
Characteristics: Art paper generally refers to double-sided coated art board, which has a very smooth surface suitable for high-quality color printing.
Advantages: Compared to Blue Core and Black Core cardstocks, the main advantage of Art Paper lies in its printing quality, especially for images that require high resolution and rich colors.

Thickness: 0.3mm / 0.32mm / 0.35mm

Plastic Black
Thickness: 0.3mm
Booklet paper material

C2S Art Paper
Weight: 128gsm / 157gsm / 300gsm
Coating: C2S Art Paper specifically refers to art paper that is coated on both sides, meaning both surfaces of the paper undergo a special coating process. This type of coating enhances the smoothness of the paper and increases the glossiness of the printed materials, resulting in more vivid colors and stronger contrasts.
Gloss Level: Due to the double-sided coating, C2S Art Paper generally has a higher level of glossiness, making it suitable for print items that require a high-gloss finish, such as magazine covers, photo books, and brochures.
Usage: Highly suitable for image and color-intensive printing projects, especially when the quality of the images and color saturation needs to be emphasized.
Suitable for: Folding booklets/binding booklet covers
Matte Art Paper
Weight: 100gsm / 105gsm
Coating: Matte Art Paper also has a coating, but its coating is designed to provide a non-glossy, matte surface effect. This treatment reduces light reflection, resulting in a softer and more natural appearance of the paper.
Gloss Level: Matte Art Paper has a lower level of gloss, giving it a high-end and understated visual feel. It effectively reduces glare, making it more comfortable to read over long periods.
Usage: Suitable for printed materials that require a soft visual effect, such as books, reports, art reproductions, and any situation where reflection needs to be avoided.
Suitable for: Folding booklets / Inner pages of the binding booklet

Box Material Types

1200g Gray Cardboard

157g Art Paper
1200g Gray Cardboard + 157g Art Paper
Structure: This is a composite material, where 1200g gray cardboard serves as the base providing sturdy support and a substantial feel, while 157g art paper is typically adhered to the outer layer for printing and enhancing appearance. Art paper is a high-quality coated paper with a smooth surface suitable for high-resolution printing.
Usage: This combination material is mainly used for making high-end packaging boxes, gift boxes, hardcover book covers, and other instances where strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing materials are needed.
Appearance and Texture: The outer layer of art paper allows for fine printing, resulting in a final product with an exquisite appearance, vibrant colors, and a smooth touch. The thickness of the gray cardboard imparts a sensation of high quality.
300gsm White Cardboard
Material: 300gsm white cardboard is a relatively simple material without a composite structure, made entirely of the same type of paper and without any additional coating on the surface.
Usage: This paperboard is lighter and thinner, suitable for making common packaging boxes, greeting cards, business cards, booklet covers, etc. These applications typically do not require very thick or very sturdy materials, but still need a certain degree of firmness and texture.
Appearance and Texture: As there is no outer coating, the surface of 300gsm white cardboard may not be as smooth and suitable for high-quality printing as art paper, but it provides a natural texture and clean white appearance suited for minimalist design requirements.
