Project Overview

This project involved the production of an anime-style TCG card set, developed with two distinct illustration styles within a single manufacturing batch.

From a production perspective, the primary challenge was maintaining consistent color performance, surface finish quality, and registration accuracy across cards with significantly different visual densities.

Finishing Techniques Applied

• Broken glass holographic film to create dynamic light reflection
• 3D embossed hot foil to enhance tactile depth and emphasize focal elements

Note: Combining holographic film with embossed foil requires careful process sequencing to prevent foil cracking or uneven adhesion during post-press finishing.

Card Design & Printing Effects

Traditional Illustration Style Card

This card version features a traditional illustration style with dense background elements and fine ornamental details.
From a production standpoint, particular attention was given to layer separation and embossing depth control, ensuring that raised foil areas enhanced the artwork without compromising printed detail beneath.

On the reverse side, a multi-layered golden floral pattern was produced using precise foil registration and controlled embossing pressure, both critical for maintaining clarity when multiple foil layers are applied.

Cartoon Style Card

The cartoon-style card uses simplified character graphics with strong color contrast and clearly defined focal points.

A red glitter border was applied to frame the design, requiring accurate edge alignment to prevent glitter overflow or uneven borders during finishing.

This variation demonstrates how high-contrast, simplified artwork can achieve a premium appearance when paired with appropriate surface treatments and controlled finishing precision.

Packaging Configuration (Project Example)

For this project, the cards were delivered using the following custom packaging configuration:

• 4 cards per pack, sealed in aluminum foil bags
• 15 standard packs plus 1 bonus pack per box
• Display box format selected for presentation and product protection

Packaging quantities, pack collation, and box structures are typically finalized based on distribution plans, logistics considerations, and budget requirements.
